In 1996 Portway Turkey established a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognised sea school in Göcek. The school offers a full range of sailing courses from 'Competent Crew' though to 'Coastal Skipper' (non-tidal).

Our courses have proved to be very popular with guests who wish to learn to sail or maybe improve their sailing skills before taking family and friends on sailing holidays.

Our sailing courses are run throughout the summer season from March through to the end of November. Individuals or groups are welcome. All sea school pupils sleep on board the boat during the week long course. Evening meals are eaten ashore at restaurants in the beautiful bays or pretty towns where the seas school boats anchor or moor each evening.

Our sailing courses begin on a Monday evening and finish the following Monday morning. During your week there will be ample opportunity for swimming, snorkelling and even water skiing in some of the bays (at additional cost).

Certificates are awarded at the end of the week to those pupils who meet all the requirements of the courses. All our sailing courses follow the RYA syllabus.

We never teach more than 5 pupils to 1 instructor. We accept individuals onto our scheduled courses, but will also arrange a sea school course for the exclusive use of your party if required at an attractive price. Each year we receive a lot of bookings from families as well as groups of friends who want sea school boats to themselves.

Our sea school is based in Gocek, a beautiful village only 25 minutes from Dalaman International Airport. We can of course arrange transfers from the airport to where your boats will be moored.
